OUR JANSSENS FAMILY

Without question the number one racing pigeon strain in the world is the strain developed by the Janssen Brothers from Arendonk, Belgium. It is a unique inbred family of pigeons that helped shape the pigeon sport, worldwide, after the second world war.

In 1964 Hans Eijerkamp purchase from the Janssen Brothers, Arendonk, the “Oude Bange van 64” according to those in the know one of the best breeders ever produced by the Janssen Brothers. This was not the only direct Janssen acquired. Descendants of the “Oude Stier”, “De Merckx”, “De 019”and “De Bange” were also brought to Brummen. More Janssen’s were introduced from Wout Smeulders, pigeons such as the “General” who had played a great role in the pedigree of the “Fameuze 05” 1 st National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance WHZB in 1981, via Bertus Camphuis, who took up residence in the Eijerkamp lofts and in turn produced the “05” dynasty with Aces such as “James Bond” (1 st National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance 1984), “Glamourboy” (1 st National Etampes 13,84 pigeons) “Wonderboy 05” and Wonderboy 06” (2 nd and 4 th National Ace Pigeons WHZB 1990).
